Ho Ho Ho... Santacon 2020 Details are here

It’s a Choose Your Own Adventure, DIY Santacon. This means, it's up to you to get your Santa on - whether at home, safely outside wearing a mask (& following state orders) or however you choose. There is an optional Scavenger Hunt and an interactive way to updated your Santa ID with Santa Cheese. And I've been told you can even go live in the facebook group.

If you are playing via email, submissions are sent to [email protected]. If you are playing via the Facebook group you *must* add a Post Topic to your submissions to make it easier for Admin Santa to find (see pinned Announcement post for how to do that). 

“Best Of” winners will be decided by the post with the most reactions by 5pm on 12/12.

The Bureau of Kringle Regulation is Back!

Santa Cheese and the Bureau of Kringle Regulation have something special for you this year! They will be available ALL DAY to renew your Santa License or issue one for the first time!

Visit www.kringleregulation.com during the event for the link to connect with them. The Bureau has finagled access to the big jolly fucker himself and setup a SANTA HOTLINE where you can talk to Santa directly! Call 1-833-4-KRINGLE anytime on Saturday and let him know how naughty you’ve been this year.

 

2020 Scavenger Hunt Details

We're excited to invite you to participate in the LA Santacon 2020 Scavenger Hunt. You must don Holiday attire. Find items that fit the following categories to win prizes. Details below.

Category: Creative Santa

• Throwback: Make a photo collage of yourself from different Santacons.
  How many times have you attended Santacon? Show us with a photo collage! It can be a digital collage or a physical one; however you must include the year with each photo.
• Music & Moves: Give us a musical and/ or dance performance as Santa.
  Show us Santa's dance moves or singing chops! Solo or group performances allowed!
• Candy Cane Sculpture: Build a sculpture out of candy canes.
  The sky's the limit when you build with sugar! Using candy canes, build the most interesting or impressive sculpture that you can and share it with us!
• Crafts: Make a paper Santa-onna-stick.
  Draw, collage or otherwise craft a paper Santa face, glue him to a popsicle stick or twig and plant him somewhere around your home or neighborhood.

Category: Misc. Santa

• Generous: Give a really generous tip.
  Tis the season for being extra jolly, so give your barista/ bartender/ birthday clown an extra big tip! The amount can be proportional to what you bought (ex, $10 for a coffee, $100 for a nice meal for 2); please remember to blur or crop out any cc or other important info!
• Holiday Card: Write or read a holiday card or Letter to Santa.
  Write a holiday card to a loved one, or read one that you've received. No cards? Then read a letter to Santa.
• Santawich: Santa needs lunch! Eat a sandwich.
  Did Santa forget to eat before starting Santacon? Classic mistake! Chow down on a sandwich or other lunch item!
• Move: Do a fun physical activity- yoga, hike, surf, skate, etc.
  Santa's on the move! Go for a hike, ride a bike, or a horse, or go ice or roller skating, skateboarding or surfing, trampoline jumping, whatever, and get a video of Santa in action!

Category: Out & About Santa

• Abbey Road: Recreate the Beatles’ famous album cover.
  Help! I need someone... to take a photo at a quiet street crossing of your team members recreating the Beatles’ famous album cover.
• Carwash: Take your car through the carwash as Santa.
  At the carwash, hohohohoho! Get a picture or video of yourself driving through a carwash (or doing a handwash at home) while in costume!
• Local Love: Support a local business (delivery is ok).
  Support your local family-owned whatever! If you're staying home, have something delivered from a local place, but please don't use an app if the biz will deliver directly!
• Sporty Santa: Recreate a famous moment in sports history.
  Recreate an iconic moment in sports history as Santa. Billie Jean King's win? The Dodgers World Series victory? Your choice, but make it great!

Category: Santa, Find A _____

• Beverage: Show us what you're drinking!
  Mix up a fancy cocktail or crack a PBR- we want to see what you're drinking and how you're drinking it.
• Chimney: Just show us one, don't try to climb in, ok, Santa?
  Santa's favorite entrance and exit is the chimney, so find one! But don't try to climb in- that only works on Xmas eve!
• Street Art: Find a mural that has your city's/ neighborhood's name.
  Santa + Street Art? Yes please! Find a mural that names the place where you are & take a photo with it as Santa.
• Tree: Hug a tree or show off a decorated one.
  Santa loves trees, so find one and give it a hug, or show off its festive decorations!

Category: Stay-At-Home Santa

• Bake-Off: Bake or cook something as Santa.
  Channel your inner Mary Berry or Swedish Chef and show us your mad skills in the kitchen!
• Green-thumb: Garden as Santa- plant, prune or pluck weeds.
  Monty Don would be so proud of your succulents and veg patch! Do some weeding or pruning, or get your fingers in some dirt!
• Indoors: Read a book, play a game, do a puzzle, etc.
  Lockdown or no, some Santas are basically indoor cats. Show us Santa doing at-home activities, like reading a book, baking, playing a board game or video game, chilling on the couch with your pets, etc.
• Smol Santa: Dress your pet or plant in a holiday costume.
  Show us your kitties!!! And/ or puppies, birds, fish, etc! Dress them in holiday attire and try to get evidence before they draw blood.
