The second snow of the season is coming down, I made a big pot of chicken barley veggie soup and I'm listening to Sheila Chandra's excellent drone album while I work on some projects. Over the past month or so, I've returned to several projects that went on the back burner in Q1 2020.
I had reminded myself of my 2020 plan -- I had a war chest and some new entrepreneurial offers. But after a few months of the pandemic, and all those dreams (along with the lack of return phone calls) were shuttered. Two years of pandemic later and the entrepreneurial spirit in me was squeezed out. I wanted more structure, stability and to get paid for all the hidden things I do that is part of the job of being your own boss. So I got some clients. And my entrepreneurial projects ended went on the back burner.
You know what is interesting? These projects are coming off the back burner. It helps to have the space on the front burners too.
It's like I might be recovering from the pandemic interrupt. When I revisit these projects, they are still so fresh and relevant. And look at all this work I previously did on them. This gives me fresh energy for new projects too. For example, I banged out a first draft of a book proposal over the course of a few days. I don't know where these will go. For now, I am keeping myself busy, trying things out and paying it forward sharing what I know.
