This morning I had to run a long delayed errand out in Venice. It was a great excuse to put the convertible down and enjoy the beautiful LA weather. Since I was out there, I called up a great friend and we walked down to the beach for coffee.
We're catching up, sharing dreams for the coming year while sitting just beyond the hide tide mark watching the ocean. Directly in front of us, I notice dolphins among the waves. We watch them jumping into the air, high jumps, low jumps. Soon pelicans flock to the same spot - pausing and diving into the water. We speculate they must be feeding. We watch the dolphins. They stay in our view for 30 minutes or more. It's a fantastic sight. Inspiring. After a particularly spectacular series of jumps I exclaim, pointing to the dolphins, "I want my year to be exactly like that!"
I'm less inclined to create a laundry list of goals and achievements and blah for 2013. Bring magic. Bring synchronicity. Bring joy. Bring happiness. Bring adventure. Bring awe-some projects. Bring renewal. Bring abundance. Bring balance and a bit more stability (but not too much!).
Inspired by this morning's show, I invoke you, Dolphin, to be my power animal for 2013.
That's the best New Year's resolution I've ever heard!
