Quick and Dirty: 15 companies get to demo in 5 minutes
1. Everyone numbered off into 15 groups
2. There were 15 tables, each with a number
3. There was a sign up sheet with 15 slots. Companies who were interested in demoing, signed up in a slot
4. Each person announced their company or technology as they signed up.
5. Each group started at their numbered table. e.g. if you were in group 10, you started at table 10.
6. The bell goes off, and the first demo begins
7. After 5 minutes the bell goes off again, and each group rotates clockwise. (e.g. my group, #10, would go to table 11)
8. Repeat 13 times... or until you run out of time. We ended up having an hour slotted, so we go through about 12.
I really liked this method of speed geeking. It allowed you to see a lot of companies very quickly in an ad-hoc manner. I'm going to add it to my list of geek event methods, for sure!
