I'm working on my activism strategy and I thinking about the actions I am considering taking, willing to take and will take. I know even just thinking about these actions will change me. And as I do them, I will also be changed.
What one focuses on, grows.
So I know if I focus on the negativity, the fight, then that is what will grow. It makes me consider, how can I "fight" the "fight" without focusing on the fight? Without increasing the fight? To be conscious in knowing the ways, or at least the direction in which I will change?
Here is where I need to use my Aikido teachings. How can I take this adversary, that is aiming to hurt not just me but a lot of other people, and take their energy, cradle them so the stop being a harm both to others and to themself?
It's a tough thing to think about. And I don't have the answer... yet.
