It's been an exciting day for Heather's Kitchen. My awesome friend Mykl spent the afternoon installing my reverse osmosis filter. Then, as I was letting the water filter through the system, this huge BOOM occured. I was sitting at my desk and looked up - this hbomb didn't even flinch. I just calmly looked up and walked over to see where the noise had come from. My first though was - crap - one of the filter things blew up. But as I looked under the sink, everything was fine - no water leakage or drama. And then, I heard the sound of water falling from the counter.
For a brief moment I was sincerely confused... thinking there's no water hookup where I plainly see/hear water pouring off. But wait... that's where my recently bottled Kombucha was sitting for its second fermentation. And that's when I realized I had earned my latest Kombucha badge of honor - I had just experience my first batch of exploding Kombucha.
Woot! I have to say, I was quite proud of myself for making highly effervescent, ne, exploding kombucha.
The problem then became grabbing the [nearby] rag towels and containing the now bubbling and effervescing liquid gold.
I'm celebrating now, drinking some of my beautiful homebrew goodness. Good one Heather.
